Richard: How did you become involved in making comic books?

Hernando: I‘ve liked comic books since I was a child , but I making comic books for 2 years with Dream Tales.

We have different kind of stories like Falom, Euri, Secta, The Misionero and Wulf & Tormentor. Our stories tell us different situations and they are different. For example, Falom and Misionero are urban heroes, Euri is a witch and Secta is post apocalyptic.

Richard: How did you come up with the idea for "Euri"?

Hernando: Well, I like myths and I wanted to create a character in that world, but in the present time. In a gothic present time. I also wanted something special in that story as suspense and action. Anther thing was a popular proverb in my country, it said “ don’t believe in witches but they exist”

Richard: Why have her be a witch?

Hernando: For the popular proverb “don’t believe in witches but they exist” and I always like that topic. You know magic, power, suspense, religion.

Richard: Do you know much about Celtic history?

Hernando: Yes. When I created Euri, I investigated so much about that culture. I read some legends and myths, for example Merlin and King Arthur

Richard: What powers and abilities does Euri have?

Hernando: She can create illusions and use the elements, too. Euri also use her sword and is a good fighter

Richard: How does the Colombian comic market differ from North America?

Hernando: Comic market begun many years ago, but in my country, comic market is new. In the past, you could find artist and they drew or wrote stories, buy it was informal.

Now, you can find companies, groups or artist and they are more serious about this topic. For example, Dream Tales, Ave Negra or the artist called Patricio Ruales.

Richard: You are working on a crossover with BlueWater Comics what is it about?

Hernando: Yes, that crossover is with Judo Girl and Euri . It´s a great story. Also, Great artist participated in this project as Jaime Roa, Camilo Tapias Jaime Molina and me. I’m happy and Darren Davis, too

Richard: You have also worked with Arcana how was that?

Hernando: Well, Dream Tales had 2 projects with this company , one of them was the crossover Jaguar/Koni Waves, after that we talked Mark Poulton about another project and He said “yes”. That Project was an invitation in the last issue of Euri. The name of this issue is Euri/Koni Waves, The Esras’ Fall.

In this story Koni waves helps Euri to fight with the evil master of Euri called Esras. In this last project, some artist participated as Carlos Cañas, Jose Parodi and me.

Richard: Do you like doing crossovers with other company’s characters?

Hernando: Yes because it is a great form for other people to know your character and know more markets, too

Richard: Are you still excited to be making comics?

Hernando: Yes

Richard: What comic books do you read now and did you read as a child?

Hernando: When I was younger, I read Marvel an DC, in special Batman. Now, I read City of Dust, Andrea Grant´s Minx , Penance and different kinds of independent comic books.

Richard: What super power would you like to have?

Hernando: I want to fly and go to different places, countries, etc.
