Richard: What is the plot of 'Force Galazia'? Andre: Force Galaxia is the cosmic tale of the Milky Way Defense Organization super team set 'Some Time from now' in the distant future. Each issue focus' on three interrelated stories: the first is Supergreen14, which tells the tale of the formation of Force Galaxia by teenage bounty hunters led by Francisco the Supergreen; the second is Omegan Chronicles which finds Francisco 30 years later in a quest on the distant planet Omega for his missing friend, the king; the final story is called MG and the Sisters of Power which is about an all female detective agency on Earth's rebellious moon. Richard: Who are the team members and what makes them interesting? Andre: The cast of Force Galaxia is large but mainly is about Francisco the Supergreen and his adventures from his time as a surly teenager to his later days as a misanthropic forty something. He is joined by the invulnerable woman MG, whom we also see as a teenager and then later as an adult when she is joined by four other superpowered women to form The Sisters of Power. They are the acrobatic Wren, the shrinking Blue Diamond, the plasma wielding Phaedra, and the ace weapons expert Simetra. Richard: This is a team comic so how do you write it to show it? Andre: It can be difficult at times to give all of the characters unique voices, but I've found that if you create a detailed back-story for each one they tend to write themselves. I also write in archetypes, some are straight forward and others are layered. For instance, MG starts off as a Spunky Kid and grows into a Boss. So if you know how a type will react combined with your characters history it becomes easy to have distinguishing voices. You can also do the trick I pull with MG and give your character an accent of some sort which kind of makes her stand out. Richard: Where did the idea for 'Force Galazia' come from? Andre: I first created most of these characters as a kid, and when I decided to make my own comics I dusted off my childhood creations, put them into an adult blender and came up with Force Galaxia. Richard: Which character was created first? Andre: The first one was Francisco the Supergreen, he was my childhood take on Luke Cage as Superman. I then created his team Cold, Heat, MG, Moss Lad and Glider. Richard: What about comic books excites you? Andre: I love that when I imagine something, type it out, and hand it to an artists I get back this amazing creation known as a comic book. The sequential page just fascinates me, the interaction of words and pictures is very powerful and primal for me. Richard: Why would someone want to read 'MG Sisters of Power'? Andre: Anyone who enjoys superheroes, women, rebellion and a good conspiracy will love MG and the Sisters of Power. Richard: What is the 'Antidote Trust'? Andre: The Antidote Trust is a collective of Independent comic book creators who have pooled our resources to make all of our products available at various comic book stores and conventions across the country. Much like Image in the early days, we are not publishers, but if you see The Antidote Trust logo on a book you can be assured a certain level of professionalism. You can find more about The Trust at www.theantidotetrust.com . Richard: How did you first become involved in writing comics? Andre: I simply began writing my own stories at a young age and have continued throughout my life. I started Force Galaxia because I needed to be creative and had many stories I wanted to tell. Richard: What advice do you have for other writers? Andre: Observe. Think. Write. Edit. Rewrite. Edit. Richard: What do you have planned for the future career wise? Andre: I'm hoping to be able to continue publishing Force Galaxia and I've got a few screenplays that I trust will be sold in the future. Richard: What comics did you read as a child and do you read now? Andre: My all time favorite was and still is The Legion of Superheroes in any of it's incarnations although I prefer the Paul Levitz version. I also read Avengers, Fantastic Four, Black Panther and many more. Today I still read the Legion and then a variety of other books from Ultimates to Top Ten. Richard: How can someone contact you? Andre: You can reach me at www.forcegalaxia.com , You can also purchase the books there. Or write to me directly at forcegalaxia@msn.com . Richard: Any last words of advice? Andre: Stay true to who you are, don't let anyone besides yourself decide for yourself.
